Far Eastern Food Store

I’ve shopped at Far Eastern Food Store for over 15 years and have always been pleased with the selection, quality and freshness. The owner, Song, is terrific, always helpful and courteous. It’s always a pleasure shopping there!

Short Version: Nice small mom and pop joint that their son is now running. Very nice people, decent selection. Would recommend. Long Version: Personally, I love this place. My mom has gone here since I was a kid (she still goes today), and even though I live a little further away, I make the effort to shop here when I can, just to support them. They have a little bit of everything from just about every Asian background. I'm not Korean, but I've had many Korean friends growing up, and that said the homemade kimchi is always on point for me. The man running the store now (I know his name, I just don't want to misspell it), has always been honest with me regarding the quality or suggestions for what product is better for what dish/food. Great guy and he has good taste with food. I have nothing negative to say about this great establishment.

Friendly, and we greatly appreciate that they stay open until 7 pm on SUNDAYS (unlike Korean markets in Newport News)! Unique frozen seafood selection. Korean prepared side dishes were fresh. They carry Chinese, Thai, Filipino, and some Korean (limited variety of K•brand choices).

Great selection of Asian foods, stop going elsewhere and try them first they have the best stuff to make yourself at home. Impress your wife with some home cooked food. This is the place to go.

Not as big as the mega food store in the area but they have a personal feel and items you can't find everywhere. This market will supply what you need for your Korean recipes and more. Come out and support this well established local business.

One of the best places for most of your exotic/foreign/Asian, grocery needs. They also have a bunch of awesome cooking tools and equipments that you just can't find anywhere else locally. My son has also enjoyed visiting the Far East Food Store for all of there snacks, pastries, and goodies all over the store! Last but not least, their customer service is outstanding. My mother is unable to lift up a normal 50lbs bag of rice and whoever is working that day gladly helps her load all the groceries into her car. Give FEFS a visit!
